We are a group of eleven surgeons who work in Northumbria Healthcare Trust in the North of England. We aim to provide a first class service for our patients with the highest standards of safety and patient satisfaction.
Our main areas of specialisation are in the treatment of gallbladder diseases & gallstones, hiatus hernia & acid reflux. We also specialise in all types of hernia surgery and bariatric (weight loss) surgery. We have a particular interest in laparoscopic (keyhole) surgery.
NUGITS has supported the development of laparoscopic surgery from the outset along with developing educational courses. We offer a number of courses in laparoscopic and open surgery.
As well as treating patients from the Northumbria, Newcastle and Tyneside areas of the North East, we are able to see patients from other areas after referral by their GP. Please see the main Northumbria Healthcare NHS Trust website for further details.
